About the Scholarship

The Stamford Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., in partnership with the Stamford Alumni Diamond Foundation, proudly announces the 2026 Scholarship Program for graduating high school seniors.

For decades, the Stamford Kappas have remained committed to empowering young people through education, leadership, mentorship, and community service. Each year we honor exceptional students who demonstrate academic promise, leadership potential, and a dedication to making a positive impact in their communities.

This scholarship represents our continued investment in the future of students across Fairfield County.

Selection Criteria

What We Look For

Our scholarship committee evaluates applicants based on a combination of the following:

Academic Achievement

Excellence in the classroom with a minimum 2.50 GPA

Leadership

Initiative, character, and the ability to inspire others

Community Service

Active involvement making a positive impact

Character

Resilience, determination, and a positive attitude

Career Goals

Clear aspirations and preparation for the future

Requirements

Eligibility

We believe that excellence extends beyond the classroom. Our goal is to support students who demonstrate the potential to become future leaders, innovators, and changemakers.

Current graduating high school senior

12th grade student residing and attending school in the geographical area served by the Stamford Alumni Chapter.

Minimum GPA of 2.50

Cumulative GPA on a weighted 4.0 scale. Students with strong leadership and service records are still encouraged to apply.

Demonstrated leadership & community involvement

Active participation in school activities, community programs, and civic engagement.

Residence in Fairfield County (priority) or New Haven County

Must reside within the chapter’s service area in Connecticut.

Apply by April 15, 2026

2026 Scholarship Application Flyer

The completed application and all supplemental forms must be received by April 15, 2026. Applications should be scanned and emailed as one complete packet.

Application Checklist:
  • Completed & signed scholarship application
  • Official school transcript
  • 2×3 photograph for inclusion in scholarship award program
  • Completed teacher evaluator form
  • Character reference letter from a community member (non-relative)
  • Personal statement essay
